Dance in a Bag llp is owned by Sue Sutherland and Olwyn Maurer. They write and design these unique and acclaimed creative resources. Both Sue and Olwyn organise training and regularly speak at children's centers and schools throughout the country.
Sue is qualified as a teacher of children with severe learning disabilities in 1981 and has worked in schools for children with severe and moderate learning difficulties, additional sensory impairments and specific learning disabilities including autistic spectrum disorder. She began to see the value of the creative arts in education and child development. With this in mind she qualified as a Creative Therapist in 1999.
Olwyn Maurer is a movement in education specialist having trained at the Northern Ballet School and qualified as both a professional dancer and teacher. She graduated from Derby University with a post graduate degree in Dance Artist in Education. She leads workshops and training sessions in a variety of settings. Olwyn also writes movement resources for the curriculumn.
